Noble’s sights on Gunflint

NOBLE Energy has completed conceptual studies of a potential floating production development of the Gunflint oil discovery in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico as the US independent awaits conclusive results of an appraisal well now drilling on the find, writes Anthony Guegel.

The engineering study was carried out within the company and, although the field is already deemed economically viable for development, no decisions will be made until the results of the appraisal probe are determined.

Noble is closer to determining the size of recoverable reserves of Gunflint. The appraisal well it is drilling in Mississippi Canyon Block 948 should reach total depth in the second quarter.
