Chinese yard Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) has secured a firm deal to build one jack-up rig for China Petroleum Offshore Engineering (CPOE), with an option to build a second similar unit.
The
yard
is
committed
to
building
the
JU2000E
unit,
with
a
working
water
depth
capability
of
400
feet,
at
its
yard
in
Shanghai.
Delivery
is
scheduled
for
2014.
CPOE
is
the
offshore
service
unit
of
China
National
Petroleum
Corporation,
whose
operations
are
largely
centered
in
the
shallow
waters.
