Carigali Hess calls for bids for Bumi B wellhead platform

Carigali Hess Operating Company has called for bids for the Bumi B wellhead platform after having recently awarded a contract for a smaller structure at Bulan B to Thailand’s Cuel.

The 50-50 joint venture between Petronas Carigali and Hess is the operator of Block A-18 gas project in the Gulf of Thailand.

The block operator has issued a tender for the engineering, procurement and construction of a four-legged wellhead platform, called Bumi B. Potential contenders include Thailand’s Cuel, Thai Nippon Steel and Malaysia’s Kencana. Bids are due at the end of the month, with delivery from the yard expected in early 2014.
