Petronas Carigali pushing for pair of Vietnam FPSOs

Malaysian upstream company Petronas Carigali is at the centre of efforts to bring two new floating production, storage and offloading vessels into Vietnam for placement on the Ham Rong and Gau Chua-Ca Cao oilfields.

The Malaysian player and its co-venturers are finalising the contracting strategies for both oil projects, but the base-case scenarios for both is leased FPSOs, with Ham Rong to come first followed soon after by Gau Chua-Ca Cao.

Petronas already has two floaters that it leases in Vietnam — the first is the Ruby II FPSO, which is located on the Malaysian company’s Ruby oilfield, and the second is the Song Doc Pride MV19 FPSO, which sits on the Song Doc oilfield.
