Shell has won the approval.

SHELL has won approval of its oil spill response plan for drilling in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas off Alaska from the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.

Shell still needs to secure an Application for Permit to Drill in order to begin operations there this summer as the supermajor has indicated.
