Petrobras opens bids for pre-salt riser systems

PETROBRAS has received bids in a $2 billion tender for decoupled riser systems that will serve four floating production, storage and offloading vessels in the Brazilian pre-salt province.

The project promises to be twice as big as the $1 billion Sapinhoa (Guara)-Lula Northeast contract, awarded to Subsea 7 in early 2011.

Two of the riser systems will be deployed on chartered FPSOs that will be used as pilot production projects on the Guara North and Cernambi fields and discoveries on blocks BM-S-11 and BM-S-9. First production on these units is scheduled for July 2014 and October 2014, respectively.
