Hopefuls battle for ONGC Cluster 7 job

SIX contractors have submitted bids to supply state-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) with a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for its Cluster 7 marginal oil development off the west coast of India.

Industry sources said Malaysian contractors Bumi Armada and M3nergy have submitted bids to ONGC, along with domestic players ABG Shipyard, Hind Offshore, Pipavav Shipyard and Mercator.

“Bumi Armada and M3nergy are the only two FPSO contractors that have the requisite technical experience on their own to qualify for the Cluster 7 job,” claimed an industry source.

However, the four Indian contenders are believed to have tied up with other qualified companies to meet the technical qualification criteria, as mandated by ONGC.
