Eni sticks with 2013 as start date for Kashagan

KAZAKHSTAN’S giant Kashagan oilfield will start commercial production of 150,000 barrels per day by early next year at the latest, with output rising to 370,000 bpd in 2014, Italian major Eni said in its latest update on the much-delayed project.

Eni, which has a 16.81% stake in the North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), said the consortium will this year submit a plan to the Kazakh authorities to install additional gas compression capacity for re-injection into the offshore reservoir to further increase available crude capacity to 450,000 bpd in 2014.
