Woodside receives Browse offshore bids

Bids for the giant Browse liquefied natural gas project’s offshore production facilities have been submitted to operator Woodside Petroleum.

Up for grabs are construction and installation contracts for a giant central processing facility and a living quarters and utilities platform, plus three deep-water dry tree units.

Independent bid exercises are also under way for more than 1200 kilometres of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines, and a 310-kilometre export pipeline.

Bidding for the central processing facility and living quarters has been split in two with topsides and jackets being offered separately, and the installation being segregated in each case. The central processing facility has a 24,000-tonne topsides and a 28,000-tonne steel jacket.
