Bids in for production facility at West Qurna-1

ExxonMobil is studying bids from engineering companies for a 100,000 barrels per day crude ­production facility for Iraq’s West Qurna-1 as the US supermajor moves to further expand output from the giant field.

The estimated $300 million contract is expected to be awarded by the end of 2012. The US supermajor has also issued a tender for flow-line stations.

The plant will help raise processing capacity from West Qurna-1 from the current level of about 400,000 bpd.

Bidders include an alliance of the UK’s Petrofac and Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), and a joint ­venture of Dubai-based Dome International and UK-listed Kentz.
