Origin Energy has started an offshore drilling campaign near its Otway Gas Project off south-east Australia.
The
company
is
using
the
semi-submersible
drilling
rig
Stena
Clyde
to
drill
the
Thistle-1
gas
exploration
well
to
be
followed
by
two
production
wells
at
the
Geographe
field
and
possibly
a
second
exploration
well.
Thistle
is
targeting
about
500
billion
cubic
feet
of
gas
in
place.
The
well
is
16
kilometres
north-west
of
the
Geographe
discovery.
