Three to the fore for Pemex's Ayatsil units

Forging ahead on Ayatsil: Pemex E&P director Carlos Morales Gill

A TRIO of contractors are leading the race to secure a share of more than $350 million of fabrication work on four platforms that are required by Mexican state oil company Pemex for its Ayatsil heavy oil development in the Bay of Campeche.

Ica Fluor Daniel-Industria del Hierro, J Ray McDermott and Operadora CICSA have all submitted low bids that together total over $360 million for the four structures known as Ayatsil A, B, C and D.

The companies in the contest separately bid on each platform, though ICA Fluor submitted the most aggressive on two platforms.

McDermott and Operadora CICSA each came in strongly on the two other facilities.

ICA Fluor Daniel-Industria del Hierro bid $89.3 million on Ayatsil-A, J Ray McDermott bid $90.1 million on Ayatsil-B, while on Ayatsil-C, Operadora CICSA submitted a $93.2 million…
