Since
2008,
Verkhnechonskneftegaz
has
been
developing
the
Upper
Chonskoye
oilfield
in
East
Siberia,
a
new
Russian
oil
province
with
fields
located
hundreds
of
kilometres
away
from
existing
gas
pipeline
infrastructure
and
major
cities.
The
field
produces
low-sulphur
high-quality
oil
with
almost
no
water
content.
However,
it
has
a
high
natural
gas
content.
According
to
Verkhnechoskneftegaz’
oil
production
director
Sergei
Bragin,
the
company
is
planning
to
drill
nine
or
10
injection
wells
into
a
selected
underground
horizon
where
gas
will
be
accumulated
for
future
use.
Work
on
the
drilling
and
installation
of
the
gas
treatment…
