Petrobras fires the gun to start new FPSO race

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has launched yet another race for a big floater to be used to push ­forward production in the Santos basin pre-salt province.

Contractors are set to submit commercial offers on 15 August ­after Petrobras launched the new tender just days ago for a floating production, storage and offloading vessel with capacity to produce 150,000 barrels per day of oil and 8 million cubic metres per day of natural gas.

The unit will be installed at the Cernambi North area, inside the huge Lula pre-salt field.
