FEED contract to boost EDG Vietnam imprint

Vietnam: Sources say EDG is head and shoulders above its competition.

HOUSTON-based EDG Consulting is on the verge of boosting its imprint in Vietnam with a new front-end engineering and design contract for the Cuu Long joint operating company.

The FEED contract pertains to the Su Tu Nau development in Block 15-1 off the south-east coast.

EDG has been competing against much larger rivals in the shape of fellow US contractor McDermott and Japan’s Nippon Steel Engineering.

Sources suggested that EDG has a clear lead on its two opponents.

If EDG finalises the contract, it will represent the company’s third significant oil and gas prize in Vietnam, and be further justification for its decision a couple of years ago to target the Vietnamese market.
