Eni to kick off bidding for Jangkrik jobs

Italian energy giant Eni is about to set pulses racing in Indonesia where it is near to beginning the bidding phase for its US$2 billion-plus Jangkrik gas field development in the Makassar Straits off Indonesia.

The Italian operator has taken Jangkrik through its early development phases, and is now poised to invite engineering and construction majors to bid for the main production facilities.

Eni — led by chief executive Paolo Scaroni — plans to request combined bids for the front-end engineering and design contract plus engineering procurement and construction work, said sources.

Jangkrik’s centerpiece attraction will be a large newbuild floating production unit.
