Players in frame for Cluster 7 FPSO deal

Contest: At least four players are in the running for floater job at ONGC’s project off the west coast

At least four contenders are ­battling it out in a much-delayed tender exercise from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the supply of a floating production, storage and ­offloading vessel to work on the Cluster 7 marginal field development off India’s west coast.

Malaysian contractors Bumi ­Armada and M3nergy, plus domestic players Mercator and Pipavav Shipyard, are among the contenders, said sources close to the tendering process. ONGC has gone back to four of the bidders with queries, said one source. “However, ONGC has not yet completed the process of technically qualifying bids for the Cluster 7 FPSO.

“This means that all bidders still have a chance,“ the source added.

ONGC is technically qualifying bidders before opening the commercial offers from those that make it past this hurdle.
