Sleipner gearing up to give Gudrun a warm welcome

AT THE Norwegian Sleipner A platform there is bustling activity with only a handful of its 240 beds vacant.

The Statoil-operated facility, located in the middle of the North Sea near the border of the UK sector, is getting ready to receive oil and gas from the Gudrun development, due on stream in early 2014.

The main Sleipner platform is getting 764 tonnes of new equipment fitted to receive oil and gas from Gudrun and the associated Brynhild satellite.

Except for a planned 21-day turnaround in August, production at Sleipner will continue as normal during the construction period.
