PETRONAS is gearing up to launch a large tender this year covering the Bokor redevelopment off Malaysia, where the centrepiece will be a processing platform weighing almost 25,000 tonnes.

With a large portfolio of domestic projects on its development agenda, the Malaysian state-controlled oil company is also signalling that it will at least consider the idea of regional yards participating in the tenders for Bokor as well as other oilfield developments in Malaysian waters, instead of sticking solely to domestic fabricators.

Petronas has issued expressions of interest to yards in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia for a planned tender covering the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of a central processing platform plus seven satellite structures.
