Technip of France and South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries have been awarded a letter of intent for a Nkr4 billion ($657 million) contract to build a large spar platform hull for Statoil’s Aasta Hansteen development off Norway.
The
platform
will
be
the
first
spar
in
Norwegian
waters
and
is
also
the
first
to
be
chosen
by
Statoil,
according
to
Technip.
Technip
carried
out
front-end
engineering
and
design
studies
for
operator
Statoil
on
Aasta
Hansteen,
formerly
known
as
Luva.
