Chevron lines up Gendalo-Gehem bidders

Chevron has finalised the line-up of bidders for the offshore infrastructure needed for its multi-billion dollar Gendalo-Gehem gas project in the Kutei basin off Indonesia.

The US supermajor — led by chief executive John Watson — has pre-qualified three rivals for the first contract worth more than $1 billion for the construction of two large floating production units.

Italy’s Saipem, Indonesia’s Tripatra Engineering & Construction and South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries are up against another group bid comprising South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, the UK’s Petrofac, Malaysia’s RNZ and Indonesia’s Inti Karya Persada Tehnik.
