Three slug it out for Arrow contract

Three groups of global services contractors are preparing to head into battle for the giant onshore turnkey contract at the Arrow ­liquefied natural gas project in Queensland, Australia.

It is understood the onshore front-end engineering and design work is nearing its conclusion, and will be followed by an invitation to tender for the engineering ­procurement and construction management contract worth ­between $12 billion and $15 billion.

A joint venture between Chiyoda, CB&I and Saipem is the FEED contractor.

The same alliance has been shortlisted to compete for the EPCM contract against Technip, along with JGC Corporation and Clough and a consortium of KBR, China Huanqiu Contracting & ­Engineering Corporation, Leighton Contractors and John Holland.
