AAR directors lay blame for delays at door of supermajor

Directors representing the interests of Russia’s Alfa Group and Access/Renova Industries (AAR) on the board of TNK-BP have blamed representatives of UK supermajor BP for delays to the commercial development of gas condensate fields operated by subsidiary Rospan.

According to a TNK-BP statement, two BP-nominated directors have “withheld their support” for a full field development plan for Rospan, prepared by the company.

The two-phase Rospan development plan includes the Novo-Urengoysky and East Urengoysky blocks. The first phase anticipates production of 8.6 billion cubic metres of gas per year. The aim of the second phase is to produce 16.2 Bcm of gas annually.
