US Representatives in push for LNG approvals

A group of US lawmakers are urging President Barack Obama’s administration to speed up the approval process for liquefied natural gas export facilities, writes Luke Johnson.

The 34 Republicans and 10 Democrats from the House of Representatives said in a letter to US Energy Secretary Steven Chu that delays are stifling domestic production of natural gas.

They called for “a renewed sense of urgency to the approval process” and cited a lack of options for newly producing states to market their gas as a major impediment to further production.
