LLOG reveals two finds in Mississippi Canyon

US junior LLOG Exploration has unveiled two Mississippi Canyon area discoveries that will be developed as part of its Delta House hub-and-spoke project in the deep-water US Gulf.

Earlier this year, the company drilled the Son of Bluto-2 well in Block 431 and hit an oil-bearing zone and a separate natural gas-bearing zone. Pay thickness was not revealed.

The probe was drilled to a total depth of 18,500 feet in about 6430 feet of water using the Noble ­Drilling semi-submersible Amos Runner. The well was suspended pending completion.

The rig later spudded the Marmalard prospect in Block 300 and struck two oil-bearing zones. Again, no pay thickness was ­released.
