Award for Technip and NPCC

Abu Dhabi’s Zakum Development Company (Zadco) has finalised the award of a lump sum engineering, procurement, fabrication and commissioning contract for the Upper Zakum 750 expansion project, to a partnership of France’s Technip and the local National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).

The contract covers 240 kilo-metres of subsea pipelines, 128 kilometres of subsea composite and fiber-optic cables, as well as nearly 30,000 tonnes of offshore structures, including jackets, riser platforms, flare towers, bridges and island modules.

Technip and NPCC have big yards in Abu Dhabi. The contract is valued at more than $800 million.
