Tanker Pacific is in pole for Mubadala FSO deal

SINGAPORE-based Tanker Pacific Offshore Terminals is in pole position for a contract with Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Petroleum to supply up to three floating storage and offloading vessels linked to the development of three oilfields in the Gulf of Thailand.

Negotiations are understood to be under way between the two parties on a contract for the bareboat charters of one firm FSO at the Manora field and two further options for the Nong Yao and Wassana discoveries.

The three FSOs will be converted from Aframax-sized tankers capable of holding 700,000 barrels of crude. Each of these vessels will accommodate 80 people on board and be moored to a CALM buoy in water depths ranging from 40 metres to 75 metres.
