Interest high in Carrizo stake

Houston-based Carrizo Oil & Gas has received a number of bids for its stake in the Huntington project in the UK North Sea.

Chief executive Chip Johnson told analysts last week that “we received multiple bids” for Carrizo’s 15% stake in the field.

Huntington, located in Block 22/14B, is operated by EON Ruhrgas and is due on stream in the fourth quarter of this year via the Voyageur Spirit floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

Johnson declined to discuss the sale further but industry sources suggested two likely bidders would be Premier Oil, an existing Huntington partner, and EnQuest which has been snapping up assets in UK waters in the past few years.
