Hopeful: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is set to unveil his energy policy

US Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was planning to unveil what was being touted as his comprehensive energy policy this week.

Romney raised almost $7 million on a fund-raising and campaign tour through Texas, promising a plan that will increase domestic energy production, ­including oil and gas, and create new jobs.

“We will, I believe ­before the end of this week, be ­describing a comprehensive ­energy plan, particularly as it ­relates to fossil-based fuels,” Romney told the audience at a fundraiser in Houston.
