Estimates up for Jubilant

UK-listed minority partner ­Jubilant Energy has issued revised estimates of gross contingent resources for the Deen Dayal offshore gas fields operated by India’s Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) that are about 11% higher for gas and 10.2% for condensate, writes Nishant Ugal.

The resources for Deen Dyal now stand close to 6 trillion cubic feet of gas and 125.7 million barrels of condensate, according to Jubilant.

The new resource and reserves update follows the inclusion of an additional area in the Deen Dayal west development, and the drilling of two appraisal wells.

The Deen Dayal west development area initially included around 17 square kilometres.

However, the Indian government recently approved a 20.5 square kilometre extension to the existing development area, taking it up to 37.5.
