Noble getting ready to spud Trema-1 well off Cameroon

Houston -based Noble Energy is set to spud its Trema-1 exploration well off Cameroon this month.

The probe will be drilled in 1950 feet of water in the Tilapia Block, targeting a prospect with the potential to hold 120 million barrels of oil.

Noble estimates the well has a 38% chance of finding crude in Upper Oligocene turbidite sands.

This well will be drilled to a depth of 10,700 feet.

Noble chief executive Chuck Davidson said last week that if this well is a success “it could really lead to some exciting things in Cameroon”, where Noble’s YoYo discovery is currently the company’s only exploration success.
