Talisman set for MonArb deals

Calgary-based Talisman Energy is expected to award two key fabrication contracts within weeks covering its 13,000-tonne MonArb bridge-linked platform project in the UK North Sea.

Market sources said Spain’s ­Dragados Offshore and Italy’s ­Rosetti Marino are up against Holland’s Heerema Fabrication Group and the UK’s OGN to secure separate contracts covering a 7500-tonne deck and a 4000–tonne jacket.

Awards could be issued late this month or in early October, said sources. They said MonArb’s schedule had never been tied to the project securing a brownfield tax allowance from the UK government, though this contradicts statements made by Talisman.
