Eco Atlantic gets the go-ahead for Namibia exploration

Canada’s Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas has been given approval by authorities to explore for shale gas as well as coalbed methane on acreage it holds in Namibia.

The new work programme approved by the Namibian Ministry for Mine s & Energy covers blocks 2013B, 2014B and 2114A in the Huab basin, and Block 2418 in the Aranos basin, all of which are onshore. “Approval was also granted to amend the work programme to include a detailed exploratory well on each of the two blocks by 2015 instead of 2012, which will analyse gas content and economic potential in both the coal and the shale,” Eco Atlantic said.
