Three contenders battling for Kepodang facilities contract

Three individual and group contenders are left standing in the race for a key contract stemming from Petronas’ Kepodang gas development off Indonesia, writes Tan Hwee Hwee.

On offer is a procurement, installation, construction and commissioning contract for the production facilities, including a central processing platform with living quarters and compression capacity plus a wellhead platform.

Petronas is understood to have qualified a lone bid from McDermott and two joint bids from SMOE and TL Offshore as well as Timas Suplindo and Gunanusa after the submission of the technical bids.

A fourth pairing comprising Meindo Elang Indah and Swiber Offshore did not make Petronas’ list due to project scheduling issue.
