ExxonMobil spill sparks protest and NGO inquiry

SEVERAL oil spills occurring in the past few weeks off the southeastern Nigerian coast of Akwa Ibom state have triggered protests among fishing communities and spurred local non-governmental organisations to investigate the cause of the persistent leaks.
