Possible find with Lineham Creek exploration well

McMoRan Exploration has made an apparent discovery with the Lineham Creek exploration well in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

So far, the probe has been drilled to a depth of 25,250 feet, and the company said it will drill the well to 29,000 feet to evaluate Eocene and Paleocene objectives.

McMoRan is also continuing to drill the ultra-deep Blackbeard West-2 well below 25,200 feet in Ship Shoal Block 188.

The player said logging data indicates the well has hit additional potential hydrocarbon-bearing sands at about 25,000 feet.

Another onshore, ultra-deep prospect, Lomond North, in St Martin Parish, Louisiana, is drilling below 10,700 feet towards a proposed total depth of 30,000 feet.
