Azimuth in Namibia push

Bermuda-registered Azimuth has completed a deal to acquire interests ranging between 10% and 45% in 13 licences off Namibia.

Azimuth said it is partnering Maurel & Prom, Chariot Oil & Gas and Eco Oil & Gas on unidentified acreage that covers 67,000 square kilometres.

To date, 5000 kilometres of 2D seismic data and 3450 square kilometres of 3D data have been acquired over the licences.

Over the next four years, Azimuth said plans are in hand to acquire a further 2500 square kilometres of 3D seismic data and drill up to six exploration wells.
