Anadarko hails success in deep-water US Gulf

US explorer Anadarko Petrol-eum appears to have a pair of successful Gulf of Mexico deep-water wells — an appraisal and a wildcat — in its Shenandoah mini-basin of the Walker Ridge area.

The appraisal well in Shenandoah in Block 51 and the minority-owned wildcat at Coronado in Block 143, operated by Chevron, have reached their proposed target depth, and early results are positive.

“Coronado and Shenandoah are both at total depth now, and we are really pleased with what we’re seeing in that Shenandoah mini-basin,” said Bob Daniels, senior vice president for international and deep-water exploration at Anadarko.
