Speaking
at
the
opening
of
the
6th
East
African
Petroleum
Conference
in
Arusha,
Tanzania,
Pinda
predicted
that
$14
billion
of
this
huge
sum
will
be
spent
before
2018
on
the
EAC’s
Power
Master-plan.
The
five
EAC
member
states
—
Tanzania,
Kenya,
Uganda,
Rwanda
and
Burundi
—
aim
to
install
30,000
megawatts
of
new
power
capacity
over
the
next
25
years.
This
master
plan
will
have
to
co-ordinate
with
a
regional
gas
master
plan
that
the
community
is
also
working
on,
said
Pinda.
