Both Hadrian South and Julia in the Gulf of Mexico, discovered in 2008 and 2007, respectively, made the most sense to develop as tiebacks to existing deepwater production hosts.
The fields were well positioned to do so. Hadrian South is located in the Keathley Canyon region of the Gulf of Mexico, about eight miles (13 kilometres) away from the Anadarko-operated Lucius spar.
