Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard of Singapore has picked up a contract with Helix Energy Solutions to build its new semisubmersiblewell-intervention vessel announced in February, the latter company said Monday.

Upstream has previously reported the vessel, informallydubbed the Q-Plus, is expected to cost about $500million and be delivered by 2015.

“This new asset,engineered and designed based on the lessons learned from our successful Q4000 platform,is being constructed to meet an increasing market demand for specializeddeepwater well intervention services worldwide,” company chief executive OwenKratz said in a statement.
