The deal will see Kongsberg deliver subsea structures for the gas export pipeline portion of the project.

Work will involve the engineering, procurement, construction and delivery of adjustable pipe support structures by Kongsberg, while Saipem will handle the installation.

The Ichthys field is located about 220 kilometres off Western Australia and 820 kilometres south-west of Darwin.

According to Kongsberg, the subsea pipeline is 882 kilometres long and continues 7 kilometres onshore to the liquefaction facilities being constructed at Bladin Point near Darwin.
