Oklahoma and federal regulators are directing operators to shut in or reduce volumes at wastewater disposal wells targeting the Arbuckle formation following a magnitude 4.3 earthquake in the northern part of the state earlier this week.
Part of the area affected is owned by the Osage tribe and is under the jurisdiction of the US Environmental Protection Agency. The rest is under the jurisdiction of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
