Despite good initial performance after start-up on 12 April, production from the West of Shetland field has fallen to 10,000 to 13,000 barrels per day of oil due to lower then expected water injection capability.

This has had a knock-on effect on performance from one of the two production wells, the UK independent said.

“A number of solutions are being studied to increase water injection into the reservoir, which is necessary to maintain voidage replacement and reservoir pressure at higher production levels,” Premier said.
