Last October, TGS proudly announced the completion of its 186,000-kilometre Gigante seismic survey off Mexico, the single largest 2D multi-client seismic survey ever acquired by the company.
However, the survey’s close was not such good news for SeaBird Exploration, operator of the largest international fleet of 2D seismic vessels in the world.
The Gigante survey contract announced in 2015 was a lifesaver for SeaBird, which has struggled to sustain its business in the limited market for 2D marine seismic surveys.
