Charter deals: for Farstad

Farstad Shipping has landed new charter contracts and extensions worth a total of Nkr490 million ($80.7 million).

Anchor-handling tug supply vessels Far Sound and Far Sword will be employed to support drilling operations being carried out by Total and Santos with the rig Jack Bates off Australia under 12-month charters.

Farstad’s platform supply vessel Far Swan has also gained work in the country with the award of a 680-day contract with Mobil Australia Resources to support operations by the drillship Deepwater Frontier at the Jansz field.

In addition, Apache Energy has declared 12-month extension options for AHTS vessels Far Sky and Lady Astrid that prolong their contracts until 2013.
