Lined up: Maersk Guardian for drilling at Ulvetanna

Det Norske Oljeselskap has been given the green light by Norway’s safety authority to drill a wildcat at the Ulvetanna prospect in the North Sea as it seeks to reverse a run of poor exploration results.

The explorer will use the jack-up Maersk Guardian to drill the 3/4-2 S probe in Production Licence 356, which it operates with a 50% stake alongside partners Repsol (40%) and Petrolia (10%).

It will be the first exploration well to be drilled in the licence, with drilling scheduled to start in the third quarter.
