Maari development stays on target

By Upstream staff

Development of the OMV-operated Maari field off New Zealand is now 28% complete and remains on schedule for production start-up in April next year.

Almost all the procurement work for the wellhead platform fabrication will be finished this month, with focus shifting to the speeding up of delivery, project partner Horizon oil said today.

Meanwhile, conversion of the vessel Andaman Sea into the floating production storage and offloading vessel Raroa is continuing at Singapore's Jurong shipyard. Fabrication is under way on all FPSO packages and a target delivery date has been set for the end of March.

Maari, in New Zealand's Taranaki basin, holds proven and probable reserves in excess of 50 million barrels of oil.
