Marion hits Utah gas flow

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Marion Energy said today that testing at its Ridge Runner 11-17 well in the Clear Creek project, Utah, has produced gas flows in excess of 5 million cubic feet per day.

Marion has a 92.5% working interest in the well.

“This result is one more confirmation of a potentially large resource as previously indicated by independent reservoir engineers,” Marion chief executive officer Jeff Clarke said.

“We believe that it will likely take the drilling of upwards of 200 wells to efficiently drain the resource from this field. Clear Creek is regarded as the crown jewel of the company, given the potential for it to contain over a trillion cubic feet of gas,” Clarke added.
