Positive results:for Nexus at Crux-2
Crux-2 looks good for Nexus
Nexus Energy has intersected 26 metres of good quality gas sands with the Crux-2 appraisal well in the Browse Basin off north-west Australia.
The well interected a gross interval of 70 metres.
Pressure data obtained by wireline formation testing confirmed that the sands are in communication with the sands two kilometres away in Crux-1.
This confirms that the gas accumulation encountered in Crux-1 extends to the Crux-2 area, said Nexus.
The well will now be sidetracked to a location midway between the Crux-1 and Crux-2 wells.
The sidetrack should intersect a similar reservoir sequence to that in Crux-1 well, and will be suspended as a future production or injection well.
Nexus owns 100% of block AC/P23, and is working on a gas recycling project to commercialise the field's contingent resources of 71 million barrels of condensate and 2 trillion cubic feet of gas.
